For our wholesale-and-export clerks, the emphasis is firmly on foreign trade.
Over 60% of our high-tech products are exported to non-German-speaking countries. Step by step, you will become a specialist in export, customs clearance, and safety regulations. Your daily tasks will include goods allocation in the shipping department, selecting suitable transport routes, and preparing the necessary shipping documents and accompanying paperwork. You will serve as ODU’s point of contact for forwarding agencies and other service providers.
By email and the phone, you will make the necessary arrangements to ensure that our customers receive premium ODU products – all over the world.
Training period: 3 years
School-leaving qualification: high school diploma (“Quali” or “Mittlere Reife”)
You will need: a precise, methodical approach to your work, good language skills, and an interest in computers
Your home at ODU will be our logistics hub. During your basic training you will become familiar with all interfaces with relevance for your daily work: purchasing, sales, production planning, financial accounting, human resources. You will also work in all logistics departments, such as goods receipt and inspection, the warehouse, packaging, and shipping. You will complete specialist training in the export trade as your area of expertise within logistics.

The intermediate examination takes place after your first year of training. The final examination takes place at the end of your three years of training. You will be well prepared for both exams through your work at ODU and your studies at the vocational school.
