How can I find out which apprenticeship places are still available?

You can find all open apprenticeship positions via the Vacancies link.

What’s the best way to apply?

Online via the application portal, by email, or by post – the choice is yours.
There is no preferred way to apply.

When is the best time to apply?

If we receive your application by the end of August, you will definitely be included in this year’s selection process. In September, the available positions will then be gradually filled. If you apply later in the year and not all positions have been filled, your application will still be included in the selection process.

Which documents should I include with my application?

A cover letter – give us an idea of why you have chosen the profession concerned
Your resume – including your hobbies and/or voluntary activities
Report cards – for Realschule students or other high school students studying for the “M-Zug” school-leaving certificate: your report card for the current 9th grade. For students studying for the “Quali” school-leaving certificate: your 8th grade report card.

How is the application process structured?

Recruitment test, interview, short internship
Start: early September
All applications received by the end of August will be considered.

Can I apply for several professions?

Yes, by all means. During the interview, we will then try to work out which one is the best fit for you. During the subsequent short internship, you can take a close look at the profession again for half a day.

Do I have a chance of getting an apprenticeship if I haven’t completed an internship at ODU?

Yes, of course. The important thing is that you express a strong interest. We offer every applicant in the selection process – if they are shortlisted – the opportunity of a short internship after school one afternoon to give them some insights into their chosen profession.

Do I need a particular grade point average for a particular apprenticeship profession?

No, the overall picture is more important to us. We don’t need specialists, just normal, motivated young people. You will learn everything else during your training with us.
