Warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d)

As a warehouse logistics specialist, you will be responsible for arranging worldwide shipping of essential goods! Our logistics specialists carry out goods receipt inspections and know are experts in ensuring proper storage of products and materials. They plan deliveries to our customers, ensure safe loading, and also take care of returns and complaints – all these critical processes must be well planned and coordinated. The smooth movement of goods between our production plants in Mühldorf, Romania, Mexico, and China will be a major part of your daily work during your apprenticeship, as well as packaging and loading our high-tech products in a transport-friendly manner.

Training period: 3 years

School-leaving qualification: high school diploma (“Quali” or “Mittlere Reife”) or higher

You will need: a precise, methodical approach to your work as well as spatial imagination

Your training

During your training you will acquire the requisite knowledge for optimal warehouse management.

First, you will learn the basics of logistics, such as how to store, inspect, ship, and transport goods. You will spend time in all departments within logistics, learn how to operate the different work equipment, and become fully acquainted with the applicable safety and customs regulations. Step by step, you will become an expert in ODU’s internal and international flow of goods.

Final examinations

The intermediate examination takes place after your first year of training. The final examination takes place at the end of your three years of training. You will be well prepared for both exams through your work at ODU and your studies at the vocational school.

Your future prospects

By showing both commitment and enthusiasm, you will open up excellent career opportunities at ODU – initially, with regard to finding a permanent job, and subsequently through professional development as a specialist in your field.

Your professional development opportunities will include further training to become a certified foreman in logistics services, a specialist in stock management, a specialist in purchasing and logistics, or a business economist (similar to an MBA) in logistics.
