Alina Scheitza works in online marketing for ODU. She is in daily contact with ODU colleagues from all over the world, mostly from her desk in Mühldorf. But her job at ODU also takes her out into the wide world herself: to the USA, for example.
Alina started at ODU in 2021, it was her first job in a global company, having previously worked mainly in smaller companies. She actually wanted to digest this "culture shock" first - but there was no time for that, because the ongoing project for which she was brought into the company had to be completed as quickly as possible. Her start in the new company was therefore a lightning-fast start, of course always supported by her colleagues in the department. "I arrived here incredibly quickly because I was given a very warm welcome from day one - so of course it was easy to get started!"
Things then continued at the same pace: Alina's big dream was to go abroad - she told her boss and she didn't hesitate for long. As the marketing team at ODU USA needed support both in operations and in restructuring the American version of the ODU website, in June 2022 it was time to get on a plane and support her colleagues in Camarillo for six months. During her time in California, she was able to get to know her colleagues on the other side of the pond, make friends and capture some of the "Californian vibe". She was particularly impressed by the positive attitude of the Americans. "Think positive - this motto runs through both work and private life there and I've copied it a bit myself."
Alina's time in the USA is now over and she is back at home in Mühldorf working for ODU. Even though she is happy to be back home, her wanderlust is far from quenched. "If the opportunity arises, I'll get back on the plane straight away and fly off - no matter where!"
